Thanksgiving and Beaches

When we lived in BC, we began to go on family walks through Tynehead Park on Thanksgiving morning. It was a way we could enjoy God's creation and start the day by being thankful. However, Cornerbrook was during Thanksgiving and the eldest 3 kids were away in Newfoundland. Keeping up the tradition, the remaining family at home went on a walk in Hopewell and got to explore a swinging bridge. Fortunately, Dolly, Bruno, and I got to visit the trail the following weekend.

While the older kids were at the conference in Newfoundland, Mr. Allan took Ricka, QB, Hal, and FarmerBoy to visit some beaches around the area on Monday. Looks like they had fun!

Cornerbrook Conference - 2023 Newfoundland

On Friday morning, October 6, Dad dropped Dolly and I off at the Roosincks place and left to meet with the Grintons and drop off Bruno. They'd volunteered to take us to the conference in Cornerbrook, Newfoundland since the family couldn't go and was still getting settled into our new house.

We drove 3 hours to Sydney where we caught our ferry and rode for 7 hours to Newfoundland, and drove the las 1/2 hour to the hotel where the conference was held. We got there just as everyone was leaving to settle down for the night.

The next morning, after the first meeting, everyone went on the planned outing to Marble Mountain where we would spend the afternoon enjoying the view by riding up the ski-lifts and going on hikes. Dinner was served there as well and we had the choice of a burger or fish and chips. The food was delicious.

Just a couple pictures:

The hotel where the conference was held

The hotel had a nice path behind it that went around a beautiful lake. A great place to go for a walk between meetings and enjoy God's creation!

Evening sings are a wonderful way to end the day

The meals were delicious and well balenced! Dolly and I missed the first one since we still hadn't figured out our way around then.

All the young people in one place!

On Saturday, we all spent the day on Marble Mountain! It was very warm but sooo beautiful! Riding the ski-lifts was a great way to enjoy the view!

We took the ferry to get to the conference! It was a very calm ride - can't say the same for the return trip!

We saw 2 moose on the drive back to the ferry terminal! It's not a great picture but it's the only one I have.
